This Cookie Policy explains how STAX App LLC (“STAX,” “we,” or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on stax.cash. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide reporting information. Similar technologies (such as localStorage and sessionStorage) may be used for the same purposes; references to “cookies” in this policy include those technologies.

Categories of Cookies We Use

Essential cookies (always on)

These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as signing in or filling in forms.

  • Session cookies: Used to maintain your session state as you navigate the site.
  • Authentication tokens: Stored to keep you signed in to your account between visits.
  • Cookie consent: We store your cookie preferences (in localStorage under the key stax_cookie_consent) so we don’t have to ask you again on every page.
  • Security: Used for fraud prevention, abuse detection, and to protect against cross-site request forgery.

Analytics cookies (off by default)

We do not currently use analytics cookies. If we add them in the future, they would help us understand how visitors interact with our site (for example, which pages are most visited and where people encounter errors) so we can improve the experience. Analytics cookies will only be loaded after you have given consent.

Marketing cookies (off by default)

We do not currently use marketing cookies. If we add them in the future, they would be used to measure the effectiveness of our outreach campaigns and may be set by advertising partners. As with analytics, marketing cookies will only be loaded after you have given consent.

Third-Party Cookies

Some pages may include functionality from trusted third parties (for example, payment processing via Stripe or bank linking via Plaid on the mobile app). These providers may set their own cookies that are governed by their respective privacy policies. We do not control these cookies.

How to Change Your Preferences

You can change your cookie preferences at any time:

  • Use the Cookie Settings link in our footer to re-open the consent banner.
  • Click the button below to open the cookie preferences dialog directly.
  • Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Note that disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the site from working correctly.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. As there is no industry consensus on how to interpret DNT signals, we do not currently respond to them. We instead rely on the consent choices you make through our cookie banner.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when it was most recently revised.
